Kellan at Light Benders was a huge help on short notice. We were in the middle of a project and needed just a few skylight components for six different skylights on short notice. They would've been a special order item and taken several weeks to arrive from the factory, which would've thrown a big wrench into our plans. Kellan was able to find the six skylights in stock in their warehouse and was willing to open them up to sell us only the components we needed, and then re-order those same parts to replenish his stock. That is a rare level of service these days. We are grateful for the incredible service. Thank you!

I've been considering whether to post this review for some time, and after much thought, I have decided that no homeowner on a budget or otherwise should have to go through an experience like we did. After all, once the hole is in your roof, at least in our case, it can't be undone.We recently (Fall of 2023) installed a new flat roof system on our 1950s home with exposed T&G celings and decided to add three skylights at the same time as we were told it was an ideal time to do it. We chose Light Benders, a "Certified Signature Skylight Specialist" listed on the Velux website, so it seemed like a good decision. We expected a high-quality experience based on their "credential"; however, what we received was seriously subpar workmanship and some of the worst communication I've ever encountered from a contractor. We ultimately discontinued Light Benders' services halfway through the project.The major issues (in short):• Light Benders didn't coordinate well, if at all, with our roofer, interrupting their planned work for an entire day.• They arrived on installation day with an incorrect skylight and missing other components of for the job.• Subpar workmanship: Everything felt rushed from the moment they arrived. The cutouts in our exposed hardwood ceiling were unbelievably wavy and inaccurate – one was actually cut too large. They were going to rely on excessive trim work to cover up their sloppy workmanship. (See Photos)• Their tape pulled shellac off our exposed ceilings and beams in every installation area – and there was never any mention of fixing it. To be fair, it's an old house and far from perfect, but this just added more to what we need to do to the interior. (• They discarded structural reinforcement concerns noted on the contract without discussion and, in my opinion, shortcut the curb construction, relying on shims to create a slope as opposed to fastening the curbs flat to the roof and adding the slope to the topside. It wasn't even enough slope to shed water – the roofer eventually corrected this.• They left a mess for us to clean up on the roof and in the yard. Styrofoam bits were everywhere, and there were divots left in the lawn from casually tossing cutouts from the roof.We canceled plans for Light Benders to do the finishing work after talking to the roofer and really taking in the lack of workmanship we had received over the weekend, there was no way we could let them do any more. They seemed slightly surprised by this but not bothered at all, and they made no inquiry as to why.I couldn't possibly begin to explain why our experience was so night and day compared to the positive reviews, nor can I envision it ever going any other way with them. Do I have high expectations from contractors? Absolutely. Are they unrealistic? Absolutely not.After looking at our options, we reached out again to Skylights NW, who had also given us an initial estimate on the project. They stepped in and completed the project without further issues, working around what Light Benders had left us with. Eric, the owner, is professional, communicative, and delivers great work. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to use them again and would encourage anyone else to go this way.Based on my experience, there's absolutely no way I'd recommend Light Benders – even if the pricing seems better.

Working with Light Benders was a fantastic experience. They were able to be out within 24 hours to give us an estimate on replacing our skylight. The bid was significantly lower than I expected it to be, and they had it installed just a few days later. The crew was super considerate and professional. Absolutely would recommend and will use again for any future work.

We had a great experience with Light Benders!The entire team from the front office to the install crew were incredibly easy to work with through the entire process.We had two large skylights installed in our living room that open and close and have blackout shades. They even programmed the skylights to operate from our phones as well as remote control!Left our living room spotless, and only took one day for the entire job.

Excellent experience from consultation, acceptance, skylight order, and completion of project within two weeks. Rather than repair our leaking 18 year old open type Velux skylight, we chose a Velux fixed model (FS) with solar shade. With the 30% tax credit, the new unit costs only a little more than repairing the old skylight.Thank you Kellan, Juan, and Carrie for making it such an easy decision; and for your courtesy and professionalism.

Kellen and the team did a fantastic job!Great customer service with arranging times to get the quote and scheduling the projects. The installers were professional and kind and they did a fantastic job from start to finish.We have used Light Benders for three different projects now.We liked our first set of Solar Tubes so much we had more installed. The second set were extremely tricky because of the drastic sloped roof angle, but they got it done and it looks awesome! The third project was adding skylights to our patio in the back. This project also turned out fantastic!It feels like a new house with all of the light we have coming in!I highly recommend Light Benders for all of your skylight and SolarTube needs.

Having a source of natural light is a blessing. The kitchen area of our home is centrally located, thus no natural light reaches there. The install of a Velux skylight was a big factor in providing much needed light. I love the remote features, especially the sun shade. Light Benders team did a nice job. The biggest challenges were some communication hiccups and schedule changes on my side, and staff illness. Sometimes you have to be flexible.

Amazing displays for skylights
