We were referred to this company by a friend who mentioned that they did good work but weren’t highly responsive. We decided to go ahead and work with STL Skylights and try to be patient. That clearly was a mistake. We received an estimate in mid-December and quickly turned around financing and signed documents hoping to be put on the schedule as we were in the midst of an attic renovation. We also assumed there would possibly be supply chain issues and we would be delayed.We heard nothing but assumed it was due to the holidays. I called in January weekly and every time either the estimator or the scheduler was out/busy and would “call us back” later that day. No call backs. No contact at all.I proceeded to call/email about bi-weekly until mid-March (3 MONTHS!) to the tune of empty promises of call backs or scheduling. Eventually I called to cancel and was told they had no record of any signed contract or financing. Even though we sent them signed documents twice and even financed through the company they suggested.What’s unfortunate is that I’m an architect who understands project delays and issues but if I had a contractor that treated a client this way, they would be fired. (For scale: our renovation went from demo to fully completed drywall in the time we were waiting for answers.) So STL Skylights was fired. There was no attempt to make it right — just that they’re “making sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.”Hire at your own risk.

Ordered a replacement skylight Jun 29, 2020, wasn't installed until Nov 05 ,2020, despite a 1 month lead time estimate at the time I placed the order. Between those dates I was never given any update as to an approximate install date until I asked to cancel the project. A few weeks after the install, as the weather got colder, I noticed air was leaking through the new skylight and despite contacting the production manager in November, I was asked to wait until after the holidays to have the installer come take a look. It's now February and despite multiple scheduling attempts, no one has come to look at the issue.Inexcusable lack of communication and basic professionalism, I wouldn't recommend working with this company.

I had five old sun tunnels replaced with five new sun tunnels with the initial plan to be installed by a roofing company in mid-2020 as part of a roof replacement contract. The roofing company purchased the sun tunnels and put them in place but did not complete the installations. Then I noticed a moisture problem in one of the sun tunnel rooms. That was when I called St Louis Skylights to come in to check if the new sun tunnel there might have been the cause.St Louis Skylights came out and identified that the moisture problem the result of the incomplete installation of the sun tunnel. Based on the good reviews, I took the sun tunnel installation portion of the work out from the original contract with the roofing company and signed a contract with St Louis Skylights for the sun tunnel installations. The contract with St Louis Skylights specified that they would install the sun tunnels to completion and take the responsibility for all five sun tunnels with a 15-year-warranty for them.I gave one star because that their installation fixed the initial moisture issue, but I would not give any more stars due to the current issues I am experiencing with the 3 out of the 5 sun tunnels they installed, and now they are finding excuses to void the warranty. I feel that the way they are trying to get rid of their responsibility due to the fact the roofing company helped fixing ceiling cracks caused by the initial moisture damage near the sun tunnel is not professional and unethical. That prompted me to write this review to give future customers an inside story about my experience dealing with St Louis Skylights. More details will be posted at the Better Business Bureau website.Good luck with your skylight project.Update on 3/9/2020 responding to St Louis Skylight reply:1. The St Louis Skylights was informed about the upcoming ceiling crack repair around one of the sun tunnels, which would be done by the roofing company after the sun tunnel installation by the St Louis Skylights when we signed the contract in June 2020.2. When the ceiling crack repair was occurring in August 2020, I called the St Louis Skylight installers to come out to check on the ceiling repair around one of the sun tunnels and asked them to check on two other sun tunnels during the same service call.3. The roofing company came out to fix the ceiling cracks around one of the sun tunnels, they had entirely transferred their responsibility regarding the sun tunnels to the St Louis Skylight upon the sun tunnel repair/installation sale contract that they had no reason to work on the sun tunnels.4. None of the 3 sun tunnels that have issues right now is the one that the ceiling repair had been done around by the roofing company.

St. Louis Skylights installed a Velux light tunnel in our kitchen. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Sales and installation went better than expected and the results are fantastic. Would highly recommend this company!

We just had one of our skylights reflashed, because it was leaking. We wanted the job to be done right and not have to worry every time it rained. St. Louis Skylights sent out two of their men who were very professional and did a great job. They were friendly and explained about the 15 year warranty. We were satisfied with their work.

We had a an old skylight that had begun to leak and knew we had to get it replaced as soon as possible before it caused damage. I checked prices, reviews, and reputations. St. Louis Skylights won hands-down. We had a brand new skylight installed that fit perfectly, was installed quickly, and at a great price compared to competitors. Very happy! Rita B.

St Louis Skylight Co is a great company. Trust worthy, professional and you can count on them. We thought we needed a shingle on one of our skylights as another company quoted us $500 to fix. St. Louis skylight came out, inspected the lights, confirmed they were sound and did not need any work. I would highly trust this company in the future.

We are very pleased with our skylight. Taylor and the rest of the install crew were very respectful and professional. Make sure to have insulation packed around the "shaft" as we get a cold breeze that comes down from it. Our only other regret is not getting a bigger skylight or another one. Bigger pockets or a lottery win would help with that.

I had 21-year-old fixed skylights in my living room. I wanted to replace them before I had to replace them, plus I wanted to turn the dark interior hall bath into a light space with a sun tunnel or similar device.I contacted St Louis Skylights and set up an appointment. Sam arrived on time, with a gentleman he was training and the Velux rep. They thoroughly explained my options and related costs, as well as applicable tax rebates for solar-powered options. JC took over my job when Sam left.When my skylights came into the shop, they were checked to ensure they were as ordered, then they called me to set up installation.Two gentlemen showed up on time for the installation appointment. They put plastic dropcloths in my living room and hall bath to catch any debris that might fall during the process. One man worked on the roof to remove the existing skylights and install the new ones. The other verified with me the location in the bathroom ceiling for the new solar tube, cut the hole in the ceiling, went up into the attic space to mark the location to cut through the roof, and vacuumed up the blown insulation which fell out of the attic hatch. They put down new shingles to match the existing ones since they had to remove some to properly complete the installations.Before they left, they showed me how to use the controls to open/close the skylights and blinds in the living room.I realize this is a long review, but I wanted to show the care they took to do the job correctly and professionally.I highly recommend St Louis Skylights.

He was very respectful and answered all of our questions. The install by James and his team was very smooth, and we didn't have any issues with our roof (thankfully). We knew exactly what was going to happen and when. The level of communication was awesome! They laid down plastic before starting and cleaned up after they were finished. My only compliant would be a few nails left on the deck and driveway, but that's understandable. The majority of them were gone. Overall, we are extremely happy with St. Louis Skylights! Been a long time customer of this business and I highly recommend them. They originally replaced my skylights many years ago and did an excellent job both on removing the old, and installing my new skylights. Due to the fact that the original skylight were slightly different in size, some modifications had to be made to the skylight shafts had to be made. This required some drywall work and their staff did an excellent job on the drywall, surface refinishing and painting of the modified shafts. They paid special attention to matching the paint to allow it to blend in with the existing ceiling color.Recently I had to replace my roof due to storm damage. The replacement of the roofing material also required that the flashing of my skylights be replaced. I consequently requested that St. Louis Skylights do the flashing component of the roofing job. As with my previous experience they did an excellent job and specifically used components that were designed and manufactured by my skylight manufacturer. They are more experienced that most roofing contractors in skylight flashing and as a result the flashing carries a much longer warranty vs if I had had the roofing contractor do the flashing replacement.

From scheduling to final install everything was professional and as expected from the top rated and experienced go to in the STL for wanted light coming through your roof. We had 3 sun tunnels installed and the light coming through even during rain is very adequate to see everything without a light on.

We recently replaced a fixed skylight that was approximately 30 years old and had begun leaking. My husband met with Sam for the initial quote and was extremely impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. We modified our initial selection and Sam was very responsive to our questions and quick to revise our quote. After submitting our deposit in mid-late September, we were originally told to anticipate an installation date in early November, but we did not have our skylight installed until December. This was our only complaint with the process, but we appreciated that JC (who would be completing our installation) regularly kept us updated with any scheduling changes/updates. JC was punctual for our installation appointment and was professional throughout. We were amazed that he completed the entire installation individually. It took a full day, but we appreciated his attention to detail, and we were ultimately very satisfied with the final product. While the cost was significantly higher than other bids we received from local roofing companies, we found that St. Louis Skylights offered the most comprehensive warranty - which we felt was important for a purchase of this nature.

I just replaced 2 old leaking bubble type skylights with 2 Velux curb mounted skylights with solar light filtering shades on my home. The demo was timely and upfront. I got 2 estimates to choose from and the price was on point. The installation was fast and professional and they kept me informed on all work. The installers did a fantastic job and my wife and I are overjoyed with the product. They are busy for a reason. Good things come to those who wait. Be flexible and give them time to fit you their schedule and you will find the product and installation is worth it. I even got a 15 yr warranty and tax rebate on the solar mechanism. St Louis Skylights are the best.

Our previous family room skylight was 26 years old. While it wasn't leaking, the glass seal had broken, and the glass itself had become "cloudy" so we couldn't clearly see the outside world. It was obviously time for a replacement, and St. Louis Skylights was the most highly recommended company online for the job. Sam Hook, their salesman, came to our home to inspect our current situation. He was very knowledgeable about the Velux product, how it was constructed, as well as the installation process. We were impressed and decided to move forward.On installation day, technician "Taylor" arrived on time and proceeded to go through exactly what he was going to do step-by-step. He then got to work, and within 5 hours we had our new skylight. My wife and I both noticed and commented on how bright our family room was now. We have a leaking Solar tube skylight installed a few years ago by a different company.St. Louis Skylight came out to assess our problem. Sam was very gracious and looked at the situation. He explained clearly what he thought the issues were. We could try to seal it with calk, which may, or may not, solve the leaking or replace with a new Velux skylight. Sam gave us the approximate price for the replacement and clearly explained the install process.Since we are seniors too old to be climbing on roofs, Sam went on the roof for us and did the calking.If after the next rain, the skylight does need to be replaced, we feel we would definitely go with St. Louis Skylights. The customer service that Sam showed us was outstanding.

It is rare and wonderful to have a local business specialist come into your home with honesty, kindness and integrity! Sam Hook gave a thorough and complete inspection of our skylights due to a “mystery leak” happening. He educated us on our skylights, attic and roof, and when he discovered the leak coming from a venting pipe, he took extra time to seal it for us! I am grateful for his professionalism, and I would recommend this company to anyone who needs repairs or new skylights!

St Louis Skylights just finished up and we are happy with the results. They replaced an existing old skylight that I installed 30+ years ago and they added a second new skylight. Two skylights was my original vision 30+years ago. I wish I had done this sooner. The skylights match and we now have twice the light. The installers did good work, the price seemed good, and by choosing the solar shades, we qualify for a 30% federal tax credit for the entire cost (materials and labor). Our great room is so much brighter and cheerful.

I needed my two 25 year old skylights replaced. They were a custom size. I shopped around and settled on St. Louis Skylights. They came to my house, made the measurements and explained their product to me. Approximately four weeks later my order was in. The installer was prompt, courteous and very neat. I just had 5 skylights replaced on the 8th of April and wanted to wait until we had a good storm before I gave this review. We had a 1&1/2 inch of rain with damaging winds on the 13th. The winds and rain were so bad, they got me up at 3:00 in the morning. I checked them out with a flashlight and found no leaks at all on any of them.Sam, the residential skylight specialist came out after I called them about a leaking skylight. He gave me several options on how to address my problem. I went with the replacement option instead of the flashing and replacement. My skylights were 30 years old and showing signs of leaking from the seals on the covers. This fixed my problem.The installer prepped the inside of our house with plastic under the openings to prevent debris from messing the floors. It did not take long for him to finish with no problems with the install.Overall, everything went well and I am completely satisfied with everything. Everyone was courteous and followed up over the phone to see if I had any comments or questions.

We love the Velux Sun Tunnel skylight that was installed by St. Louis Skylights. Our daughter lost the window in her room when we did an addition on our house. We decided to get a skylight installed for natural lighting in her room. Her room no longer feels like a closet. Even on cloudy days, there is plenty of light in her room. We are very pleased.

There were two men that came out to replace my existing skylight. They were on time, curtiuos, prepared my kitchen to keep debris maintainable. It took only 4hrs including their lunch break. Excellent job!

We found St Louis Skylights at the home show and made an appointment for an estimate. We had three skylights that needed replacement. They showed us much better quality products than what was originally on our home- more energy efficient, let more light in, and was much quieter than the thin plastic ones we had when it rained hard. The replacement was much quicker and easier than I expected. There was no need to disturb the interior finish.We’re very happy we chose to replace our skylights and St. Louis Skylights did an excellent job.

This opinion did not change once we signed a contract and had them install. From the sales process to the install, this organization was fantastic and so far the product worked as advertised and is helping with our problem.

After moving into my home I learned that the skylight needed to be replaced in the master bath. Since buying a house is a major investment I wanted to make sure that I selected a company with a good, solid reputation when it came to skylights. I can't say enough about how great the service was from beginning to the end. Installation was flawless and the skylight is beautiful. I will do business with St. Louis Skylights again.

Exceptional product, exceptional customer service! The loft area in our home was very dark due to the lack of windows so we had light tunnels installed. WOW! It looks like the lights are on where it used to be dark. We also had 1 installed in each of our upstairs bathrooms. The installation guys had to climb on our 3 story roof and run up and down stairs all day. They were very courteous and professional and cleaned up when they were done. The president of the company even called the day after installation to ensure we were happy with our new light tunnels. We highly recommend St. Louis Skylights!!

I was getting cold air from the builders skylights. It wasn't a sealing problem they were just cheap products. I changed to St. Louis Skylights and not only did they do a super install, but I noticed a difference immediately in no cold anymore and I have had no problems for years.

I am extremely pleased with the interoir trim work done by Kyle and Anthony on my four skylights . When the roofer replaced the old skylights, the new ones were a slightly different size leaving gaps inside the house along the edge of the sheet rock. The angles made it difficult to cover the gaps and get a nice finished appearance. Kyle came up with an ideal solution and the results are perfect. The trim looks like it's part of the skylight. I am so pleased. Thank you!

St. Louis Skylights did an outstanding job installing my solar tube skylight. The technician arrived early, worked on the skylight keeping my house clean and neat. He even carried on a conversation with my 3 year old granddaughter while he was working. The work was done faster than estimated and he left my house cleaner (and definitely brighter) than he found it!
